Volunteer Opportunities
Seniors Programs Support
Help with seniors' social programs, lunches, activities, and outreach services.
Volunteer Roles:
- Weekly lunch preparation and serving
- Coffee group facilitator
- Activity and program assistant
- Friendly visiting and phone check-ins
- Transportation to appointments and programs
Family Programs Support
Assist with playgroups, family activities, and early childhood programs.

Community Closet
Help operate our thrift store, sorting donations and assisting customers.

Support youth programs, camps, and outreach activities.

Initial Meeting
We'll schedule a conversation to learn about your interests, skills, and availability.
Screening & References
Depending on the role, we may conduct reference checks and/or request a background check.
Orientation & Training
Attend an orientation session and receive role-specific training to set you up for success.
Start Volunteering!
Begin your volunteer role with ongoing support from our volunteer coordinator and staff team.
Screening Requirements
To ensure the safety of our community members, some volunteer positions require:
- Reference checks (typically 2 references)
- Criminal record check
- Vulnerable sector check (for roles with children, youth, or vulnerable adults)
We'll discuss specific requirements during your initial meeting. JBCP covers the cost of required background checks.
